چکیده
This paper aims to bridge progress in neuroscience involving sophisticated quantitative analysis of behavior, including the new use of robust control, with other relevant conceptual and theoretical frameworks from systems engineering, systems biology, and mathematics. Familiar and accessible case studies are used to illustrate concepts of robustness, organization, and architecture (modularity and protocols) that are central to understanding complex networks. These essential organizational features are hidden during normal function of a system, but fundamental for understanding the nature, design, and function of complex biologic and technologic systems.

Neuro-ACT Cognitive Architecture Applications in Modeling Driver’s Steering Behavior in Turns
Cognitive Architectures (CAs) are the core of artificial cognitive systems. A CA is supposed to specify the human brain at a level of abstraction suitable for explaining how it achieves the functions of the mind. Over the years a number of distinct CAs have been proposed by different authors and their limitations and potentials were investigated. These CAs are usually classified as symbolic and...

For over the past several decades, there has been a great concern about energy crisis and lackof non-renewable resources. Residential buildings take more than 25% of the total energy consumption and morethan 75% of energy consumption in these buildings is for heating, cooling and hot sanitary water. On the other hand, traditional buildings of Iran were designed according to ecological conditions...
متن کاملComparative Study of the Architecture of the Tajrish Historical Bazaar and Arg Shopping Center: a Synomorphy Theory Approach
Ecological Psychology and Micro-Sociology studies concerning behavioral-milieu systems have created an important basis for evaluation and prediction of the performance of built environments. In this context, the Behavior Setting Theory introduced by Roger Barker in 1968 defines the complicated behavioral-milieu framework or synomorphy as the determining factor of the environmental behaviors of ...
متن کاملConcurrent behaviors with architectural constraints or imperfect clocks ( Deliverable 4 . 2 )
Time in specification models is often considered as perfect, that is a considered model is supposed implemented on an architecture that can provide arbitrary precision in time measurement without drift, execute tasks instantaneously at precisely defined dates, etc. Of course, such assumptions are usually not met by real implementations : clocks drift, tasks are launched at imprecise dates, and ...
متن کاملSustainable regionalism: Reading the sustainability approach in the context of regionalist architecture
The innate sense of interaction with the region is a sign of environmental sensitivity, which is very vital in the 21st century. Today, it is inevitable that regionalism should be included in a larger discourse of architecture, and that the debate over the role of the use of regional green architecture as a factor in cultural identity and sense of place should be promoted. The present study arg...
